5 New Instructional Strategies

1) Podcasting could be a useful to help students who are pulled out of class for reading help to stay up to speed.  It is always a challenge to get those student's caught up.  Even though they are only pulled out for the first twenty minutes of class, they miss much more.  This could help them catch up on their own without me having to stop teaching the class to catch them up.

2) Having students creating a Wiki could be any interesting way to have students work in groups and submit their projects to me.  The curriculum I teach often calls for the creation of PowerPoints, which I often just check.  Student's know how to use PowerPoint.  I think this would be a great tool for collaboration.

3) Make a mindmap.  I could have student's create a mindmap to go along with the Design Process we follow.

4) I want to create audio presentations as tutorials for students who absent while we our working on our CAD unit.  This could help students who can not focus on the Smart Board improve learning, help students who are out catch up and help students who would like to get ahead.  They would be able to replay them over and over until they figure out what they need to.

5)  The one link I found particularly fascinating was Typography for Instructional Media.  The font that a teacher uses in a presentation could really effect the way that the student perceives a lesson.
