Here it is! My final prototype of Escape the Basement! 40 hours of blood, sweat and tears. The object of the game was to pass through two levels as fast as you could without losing all your lives. Below, is by far my best time clocking in at just under 59 seconds. The hardest part of this game was creating the timer. Most of the material I was able to find was on countdown timers and alarms. I had to piece together different tutorials and get creative in my thinking to get it to work. I learned alot about persistent objects, boolean variables, strings, global instances, room transitions and so much more! I think my final product showed off the work I put in, and thanks to my play testers making some great recommendations, took it to another level. My favorite suggestion was to create a way for the player to receive feedback when they lost a live. When the player hits a ghost, he will say "Ouch" or when he gains a life he will say "Yes".
