Learning With Media - Robert B. Kozma

- "the size and resolution of many computer screens is such that reading text may be more difficult than it is with books." It is a pain reading this on my computer right now.
- Symbol systems brings up an interesting point. Is this the same thing as graphic icons?
- Every time the article says medium, I think of a psychic.
- Learners vary in their processing capabilities, the information and procedures that they have stored in long-term memory, their motivations and purposes for learning, and their metacognitive knowledge of when and how to use these procedures and information.
- Learning with Text Books - I don't use text books...
- Like the part about physicist. I also scan articles and pick out the parts that are interesting or important to me. It could be like reading a magazine on a topic you are interested in. You might look at the cover, decide if it is going to be a good issue or not. You may read through it right away, or you may go through and see only a couple columns that you are interested in reading.
- I often find when I read something with pictures to help guide me along I more like to retain the information as well.
